McHugh began a 5 year apprenticeship in 1966. After completion, he went on to
serve as Director of Training for the Mechanical Contractors of South Florida
for 12 years. In 1986 he, along with his wife Pamela, formed Trinity Air
Conditioning Co. J. Barrie McHugh holds a state mechanical contractor's license,
and has served several South Florida municipalities as chief mechanical
official.
